Anna Johansson is an Associate Senior Lecturer in Ethnology at HUMlab, Umeå University. After receiving her PhD in 2010, her research has focused on social media and gender, online health activism and processes of politicization, and the body in digital culture. Major methodological and theoretical interests are digital ethnography and political discourse theory. As part of Media Places, a Wallenberg funded collaborative research program involving Umeå University and Stanford University, she currently explores the ways in which digital technologies enable particular performances of mental suffering and mental health identities.
