Maria Eriksson

Maria Eriksson is a PhD candidate in media and communications studies at the Department of Culture and Media Studies, Umeå University. Eriksson has an MA in social anthroplogy from Stockholm university with a specialised interest in digital anthropology. Her master thesis, for example, traced how digital pirate copied films – as objects, items, things – are being produced, distributed and consumed, and thereby given a “social life” by passing through different value regimes and moral spheres. As a doctoral student she is since autum 2014 part of the project’s interdisciplinary research team, and an affiliated researcher at HUMlab, Umeå University.
